Squirrel's Bedroom Makeover

Squirrel finally has a room made just for her. When she was born her crib was in our room. Then we moved her over to the spare room. After that we moved her into Possum's room and moved him into the bigger spare room. Possum's old room was fine, but it was blue. I decided that it was time to change that. Now she has a pink room. Her Daddy thinks that it is too bright, but Squirrel loves it. She stayed in the room with me the whole time that I was painting, trying to rush me along. Towards the end she even picked up the brush and tried to help me finish up. As soon as we got the comforter on the bed she had to get in it and try it out. I'm glad that a gallon of pink paint made her happy.

The last picture is of Possum's bed. I didn't want to leave him out. He has the deer quilt on it that Mama Barb made. He loves it.

My Birthday

Yesterday was my 29th birthday. Possum worried the whole day that Mommy was not going to have a party and more importantly a cake. Joel went to work early and came home to watch the kids while I went to the doctor for a check-up. While I was gone he took the kids to buy me a birthday present. They looked for a dress, but couldn't find anything and so they went to the Hallmark store. He let them each pick me a card out and then they picked me out a pretty coffee mug that had my initial on it. They actually got the initial right on their own he said. The lady in the store wrapped it very beautifully for them. Joel went great lengths with the kids explaining to them not to tell Mommy what was in the present. As soon as Possum handed me the present he said, "It's a coffee cup Mommy." Oh, well. So much for the surprise. I opened it and acted very surprised. They were both very proud over the cards they had picked out and wrote in (all over).

Possum was still concerned over the birthday cake though. He knew we were going to the Gillon's for supper so he kept asking if my cake was going to be there. When we got in the car to leave he saw the camera in my bag and asked, "Is that to take pictures at your birthday party?" He just doesn't quite understand that an adult's birthday is not the same as a kid's. He also told me as we were leaving to go that they bought me a pretty dress for my birthday, then he quickly added, "Oh, I'm just kidding."

Thankfully, he was not disappointed because Hannah made me a cake. Possum was even happier when he saw that it was a chocolate cake with chocolate icing! Squirrel really enjoyed the cake. Overall it was a great birthday. Thanks Nene for the dinner. It was great. Happy birthday to Mr. Bill as well (it was his 16th birthday too!!!).

Riding Home

It is a pretty short trip between our house and Cricket's-only a little over two hours. Our trip home last night was very long thanks to the Squirrel. We had only been gone from Cricket's for about 5 minutes, we may have goon 3 miles, when Squirrel started yelling, "I gotta go pee pee." And that was how the whole trip went. She then started singing very loudly. Screaming in fact. Possum asked her very politely to sing quieter, but she only got louder. So he had to talk louder to ask her to be quiet. He finally got so upset that he put a bowl on her head. She liked it. It made her voice sound funny. So she sang louder and louder and Possum got more frustrated. The camera was in the seat beside me so I held it up and made these pictures. They aren't very centered and stuff, but I wasn't looking, just pointing. Thankfully, she fell asleep for just a little bit and quickly woke up yelling, "I gotta go pee pee." What a trip!

Chocolate Cake

In honor of my birthday and Nana Bama's visit, Cricket made a homemade six-layer chocolate cake. It was the best chocolate cake I have ever eaten. The cake had a chocolate mousse filling and chocolate fudge frosting with chocolate shavings all over it. My diet plan went out the door with my first bite! Nana Bama and Possum enjoyed a piece for dessert after breakfast and lunch and as a snack between meals! We all thoroughly enjoyed Cricket's cake.

Poppa and Nana Bama

While we were at Cricket's house Poppa, Nana Bama, and Mama Barb came to visit. The kids all had fun playing with them and showing out.

Fun with Uncle Mike

Uncle Mike had to share his bedtime snack with the girls. He is a much better sport than I am because I wouldn't have been letting the girls double-dip. They ate till there wasn't any more to eat!

Baby Kisses

Possum and Squirrel loved giving baby Kenzie sweet kisses!

Baby Kenzie

While the kids splashed and played in the water, Baby Kenzie lounged in the shade. His sister Maddie even thought he looked a little warm and poured some water on him! I don't think he moved the whole time we were at the pool.

Swimming Fun

We took the kids to the club were Mike works today to let them swim. They enjoyed the kiddie pool. Maddie had fun pouring water on everyone. Possum liked jumping in the water and swimming like a dolphin. Squirrel liked the boogie boards the best.

Ready for Bed

The kids being sweet before bedtime.

Possum and Kenzie

Possum absolutely loves Baby Kenzie. He sits and holds him so sweetly and talks to him like a grown person would. He told me that he needed a baby brother, but that is one thing he won't be getting. He said that he would be okay with cousin Kenzie!

A Visit to Evansville

We got home Thursday afternoon and quickly unpacked, repacked, and left for a visit with Mike, Cricket, Maddie, and Baby Kenzie. Makenzie is beautiful and such a good baby. Maddie, Possum, and Squirrel had a good time playing before bedtime. Tomorrow Poppa, Nana Bama, and Mama Barb are coming to visit with us. We will have a FULL house!
