Take 1....

Our attempt at getting a family picture to be used in a brochure.

Take 1
Take 2

Take 3
Take 4
Take 5
As you can see, they didn't get any better as we went along! We finally gave up.

Fun at the Lake

On Tuesday I decided to take the kids to the beach and playground at the boat ramp by the house for some fun. They had a blast on the playground and even more fun in the water. Possum is getting entirely too brave! He was swimming all over the place and his sister was close behind him. We had a great time playing together.

Happy Independance Day

We have been trying to explain to the kids what the Fourth of July means to us. They haven't quite gotten it yet.

Me- "Possum, what is the Fourth of July?"

Possum- "It's a day of celebrating."

Me- "Celebrating what?"

Possum- "Celebrating all the days after Easter."

Me- "No Possum. That's not it."

Possum- "Oh, we are celebrating the fireworks that we're gonna see tonight."

I guess we'll keep working on our history lesson. The kids and I made the flag garland that we hung on the front porch. After we got it hung, Squirrel would walk back in the yard and gaze at it. I think she liked her work! Possum said that it looked like we were having a real celebration party now!

I am very thankful for my freedom and for the ones who have given their lives to make it possible. Hope everyone has a wonderful day of celebrating!

Squirrel's First Haircut

Possum was due a haircut today and Joel suggested that I get Squirrel's hair trimmed while I was there. This was the first time for Squirrel to have a pair of scissors to her hair. Mrs. Debbie has been cutting Possum's hair every month since he was a month old, so Squirrel had seen the process a few times. When her Daddy mentioned that she get a trim, Squirrel screamed and cried. I think she thought we were going to have all of her hair cut off like her brother's. Thankfully she had warmed up to the idea by the time we got to Mrs. Debbie's. She sat in the chair like a big girl and watched it all in the mirror. I think she likes going to the beauty shop now! Please pray for Mrs. Debbie as she has recently found out that she has cancer and has begun treatments. We love Mrs. Debbie and appreciate her so much!
