Fun in the Snow

The kids were just dying to get out and play in the snow. Okay, their Mommy was dying to play too! We had a snowball fight and Daddy pulled us around on the sled. There wasn't a whole lot of snow on the ground yet, but it was enough for the kids to play in. We are supposed to be getting some more so maybe there will be enough to build a snowman later!

Snowmen

Being stuck in the house with two little ones can be trying. I have been looking for something to entertain them and I remembered that I had another $1.50 gingerbread kit. This one happened to be snowmen. Perfect for our winter weather! Notice that Squirrel was just interested in the icing and candy! Possum took his decorating very seriously and tried to make his look just like the one on the box. We thought he did a very good job!

Snow

Our ice turned to rain, to sleet, and now to snow! It is snowing so hard right now it looks like a blizzard. The kids and I are very excited! They are standing at the window staring out at the beautiful sight. A rabbit will hop by in the snow and they start jumping up and down and screaming. Hopefully I will have more snow covered pictures to post later.

Ice

We woke up this morning to a layer of ice. We were expecting a lot worse, so this is good. It could still do something more, but right now we are fine. We still have power, but there are some around us that don't. Joel had prepared us for the worse-gas for the generator, water bottled up, gas for the fireplace, camp stoves and I made a quick trip to Wal-Mart yesterday morning (God bless me!). Hopefully we won't get any more ice. Some snow would be nice though. I would love to be able to sled down the hill with the kids one time this winter! I love snow as much as the kids do!!!

The Circus

NeNe and I took the kids to Nashville today to see the Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey Circus. We found some really good cheap tickets and our time and effort was worth it. The show lasted for about three and a half hours. Pretty good for what we paid for the tickets! We went to the "Over the Top" show and it was definitely over the top! Waiting for the show to start.

To say that Squirrel was excited would be an understatement!
Kelly Anne the Elephant painting a picture.

Squirrel went back and forth between us looking for food.
When all the food was gone she climbed in my lap and fell asleep.
There were seven motorcycle riders in this cage.
I was so nervous for the riders that I was sweating.
I let her nap during the intermission and then I made her wake up. She was ill at me until she saw the tigers. Then she got excited again!
Mason wondering why his popcorn bucket is empty. I think a little Squirrel got a hold of it!
The start of the passing of the clown hat. We all wore it at some time or another.
NeNe and Possum
I don't think Mason was digging the clown hat.
Notice the blue on Hannah's sleeve. She and Possum had it all over them!
The things you do to your children when they are sleeping!

The tigers were one of Possum's favorite things

The elephants were awesome!

We all had mixed emotions about the show being over. Possum cried.....
.....and Squirrel waved good-bye.
We saw trapeze acts, high wire acts, a guy and girl riding a motorcycle on a high wire, and of course clowns. The motorcycles in the cage was unreal. I know these guys do this every day (sometimes 3 shows a day) and they know what they are doing, but I was terrified for them. The animals were a highlight for Squirrel. Was saw elephants, horses, ponies, dogs, pigs, tigers, penguins (Okay they weren't real penguins, just clowns), goats, and some more than I can't remember. Did I mention that we saw some clowns. I could go on and on, but this show was amazing! I think that me and NeNe enjoyed the show as much if not more than the kids. I highly recommend this circus to everyone (especially if you can get good tickets like we did!!).
