We're Having a Heat Wave

Lest you think it was a big heat wave this is the creek that runs through the park. As you can see it was still frozen!

Yes, you read that right. The temperature went above freezing today and the sun shone brightly! Squirrel was so excited she ran and got her swimsuit to wear today. I had to explain that just because the sun was out didn't mean we had skipped to summer. The kids and I haven't been out much in the past few weeks. We have either been sick or it has been way to cold. Since it was such a beautiful day I decided we might could venture out of the house. I had some errands to run already so we made a day out of it. I even took the kids to the library and to the park. They had a ball. Neither one of them wanted to leave, but my fingers were freezing and I figured theirs were too. They are now both napping peacefully on the couch. What a great day God made for us!

Just a Chillin'

Possum was being silly as usual tonight. He was trying to close one eye and act like he was Patch the Pirate. This was the only picture I got with both eyes partly opened.

Squirrel's security blanket-a piece of pig material that Cricket got her. She loves this thing and drags it around the house all day. One day you will see this material and a pacifier show up at her wedding. I will remind her of the attachment she had to the two things!

A pretty Squirrel

Joel had a board meeting tonight and me and the kids have just been hanging out. Possum wanted to take some pictures, but they were not blog worthy! It snowed here this morning, but then the sun popped out and it vanished. We didn't even get out in it for a picture. It is just too cold! We are supposed to get some more snow tonight, so maybe we can try again tomorrow. The video is just of the kids being silly. Enjoy!

When I Grow Up

I have been a bad blogger lately. Not much exciting going on here. I started this past week with a nasty stomach bug and then it got really cold here so we have been stuck indoors all week long. I made the kids pose for a few new pictures to post and these are the best that I got.
Possum said to tell everyone on the "bwog" that he has a headache from hunting a deer. He proceeded to tell me a really big story that I couldn't remember and get right if I had to.
When we got home from church tonight the kids were at the kitchen counter going through their goody bags from Marshie and somehow we got on the subject of growing up. Squirrel is going to grow up and get married and have a baby. Of course Joel started fussing with her about it. He told her that she couldn't get married because she was his baby. She sweetly told him that she would always be his baby. She was very insistent that she is going to get married and have a baby. I couldn't help but crack up at a 2 year talking about such things. Possum was trying to figure out the whole nephew/uncle thing. I tried to explain it, but I'm not sure if he gets it. He really didn't say much about when he grows up. I think he enjoys his life as it is. Who wouldn't? I think Possum would make a great writer. He has such an imagination. Joel and I saw a commercial for a funniest child contest. Possum could definitely win. Put him on the stage and let him tell a story!
Maybe something interesting or funny will happen this week so I'll have some new blogging material. Right now it is pretty boring around here unless I can videotape one of Possum's stories!

Pictures from Aunt Debbie

The family minus MeLeah and Leslie's bunch

This is part of my Daddy's side of the family. Believe it or not we all weren't there!

I got up this morning and had an email from Aunt Debbie with a few pictures she made during Christmas. I love getting pictures from Aunt Debbie! Notice my sweet girly Squirrel and my all boy Possum! Gone are the days of dressing him up cute. He wants his camo!

What will $1.50 buy?

$1.50 will buy you at least an hour of entertainment without fussing and fights plus dessert for after supper! After Christmas I got some items on clearance at Wal-Mart that I knew would be good entertainment for the kids. Today was one of those days that we needed some entertaining! The kids have been not been feeling well and were being a handful today. After nap time I pulled one of my clearance buys out and the kids had a blast! This kit was worth every bit of the $1.50 that I paid for it. Thank goodness I have a few more of these hiding away for another day!

Snow Day

When we woke up this morning at Cricket's house the ground was covered with a white blanket of snow! By the time we had fed the kids breakfast and got them bundled up most of the snow had melted away, but they enjoyed the little bit that was left. The girls enjoyed sliding for a few minutes and Possum "mowed" the snow with the toy mower. Baby Kenzie didn't really enjoy his first snow-he didn't like being bundled up in his snowsuit!

Sesame Street Live

I had all three of the kids piled on my lap!

Bubba Love even enjoyed the show!
Poor Squirrel was not feeling well.Possum was so excited when he saw Dorothy (the fish).
The observant Possum quickly realized that this was not the "real" Mr. Noodle.

Possum made himself at home during the show-he took his shoes off! Bubba Love enjoyed watching the confetti and streamers falling from the sky.

Squirrel was very sick and ready to go home.

Me and the kids traveled over to Cricket's house on Monday evening for a little visit. She got us tickets to see Sesame Street Live! As always, the kids had a great time playing together and were very excited and anxious all day waiting for the 7:00 PM show. The only down side was that Squirrel was getting sick. She sat in my lap the whole show drooped over. Possum, Maddie, and even baby Kenzie enjoyed the show! Possum was a little disappointed that he didn't get to see Snuffie. He got to see all the other characters, but realized the one that wasn't there! Possum decided that Elmo was his favorite and Squirrel said that Zoe was her favorite because she was wearing her favorite color pink. It was fun to see their faces light up when their favorite characters from TV appeared for real in person. The videos are clips from the show. I mainly put them up for the kids to enjoy, but if you like Sesame Street watch and enjoy!
