This morning Possum got to open his present from Daddy and Mommy. It was a real BB gun! His sister got him the ammo to go with it. He was so excited. Daddy put up a target in the yard and Possum has been practicing. He also got some binoculars, flashlight, and walkie talkies to take hunting. He is all set now.

The Birthday Party
Possum had a great time at his birthday party. Since Possum wanted a fishing party we had it down at the lake. Daddy brought his boat and gave everyone rides and the kids got to fish on the bank. Everyone also enjoyed the swings, slide, and sand. The menu included grilled hot dogs (Possum's request), chips and dip, goldfish crackers, fish cookies, gummie worms, and cake. Possum was concerned that we weren't going to sing to him and he was all grins when everyone started singing. He got some great presents-a gun, bow and arrow, fishing pole and tackle box, clothes, tent, Bob the Builder dvd, and much more. The weather was great for the party since the sky was cloudy and the wind was blowing. Aunt Cricket, who is nice and pregnant, didn't even get too hot! Squirrel and Madison enjoyed the sand too much. They got real good and dirty. Possum told me that this was the best party ever!
We will celebrate his actual birthday in the morning. He has requested biscuits and gravy and he will get to open his presents from Daddy and Mommy. After our morning celebration it will be off to the wedding. Another busy and exciting day is ahead of us!

Family Fun
Possum and Squirrel have had a great time playing with Uncle Kam and cousin Madison. They are in town for Possum's birthday. The kids have played hard all day long. As the last picture shows, they played so hard it wore Uncle Kam totally out!

The Birthday Cake
I want all of you who can't be with us for the party to feel as much a part of it as you can. Here are some pictures of Possum's cake. Thanks to Joel once again for the artistic help. I went a little overboard with the icing underneath the fondant (Possum loves icing) and the cake is a bit lumpy. Gives it character. Makes it look like waves! It is a chocolate cake (homemade) with alternate chocolate buttercream and vanilla buttercream icing. I know some of you are wishing you were here to eat it! Possum wanted everything to be green. We settled for his shirt and the lily pads. I am going to make fish cookies and decorate them today. We have goldfish crackers and gummy worms for the party along with other foods. I promise there will be more pictures of all of the excitement later.
