Christmas Play

We had our Christmas plays tonight. Possum and Squirrel's PeeWee Club recited the poem "A Time To Celebrate" and sang "Joy To the World". The Peanut and Patch Clubs performed Patch the Pirate's new children's play "Christmas Carol". All of the children and adults did a wonderful job. I had one of the teen girls to video tape Possum and Squirrel's presentation, but quickly took a video on my digital camera so I could upload it here. Hope you enjoy these.

"A Time To Celebrate"

Whether we're big or whether we're small

Christmas is special for one and all

Whether we're girls or whether we're boys

Christmas means more than games and toys

It's a time to give

It's a time to sing

Our song of praise to the Newborn King.

Birthday Party for Jesus

Possum and Squirrel's Sunday School class had a birthday party for Jesus today. They made crafts, ate, got presents, and sang "Happy Birthday" to Jesus. I could tell from the smiles on their faces when I picked them up and the fact that they fell asleep in their car seats on the way home that they both had a wonderful time. Thank you Mr. Bill and Mrs. Regina for a great Christmas party!

Happy Birthday Joel!

Today is Joel's birthday even though he isn't wanting to acknowledge it! Birthdays are much more exciting when you have young children. They make you remember your big day and they want to celebrate!

We love you Daddy and appreciate you so much. Hope you have a wonderful day!

Our Week in Review

Our week has not been too exciting as you can tell. The weather has been less than perfect. Although the rain has been very needed, it just isn't the kind of weather this mom wants to see.
As you can tell from the pictures, when the kids can't go outside and play they make full use of the toys in their rooms. All I can say is that they stayed entertained and quiet for a long while. Then it took them a long while to clean up the disaster area!

I had a ladies Christmas cookie exchange planned on Monday night, but had to cancel it due to the pending winter storm. The winter storm didn't come. Oh, well. We can always exchange cookies in January. Right?

The weekend is going to be very busy for us. I have two birthday cakes to make, dress rehearsal for our Christmas play, Possum and Squirrel have a "Happy Birthday Jesus" party, Christmas play and fellowship on Sunday, and teen Christmas party at our house on Monday. Sometime I also need to pack for the trip down south. I would like to say that I might get to rest when I get down south, but we go, go, go while we are gone.

*Enjoy the pictures of the madness at our house!
**Grandparents, don't be alarmed. Your grandchildren are not trapped under the toys. I did take pictures of them. I was too ashamed to post them. I didn't want you to see how bad they looked. I will put it this way. Possum said "Why do I have to take a bath if we aren't going anywhere?". We didn't go anywhere from Sunday night church until Wednesday night church. Does that tell you anything?

Possum's Photography

In an attempt to once again get a good picture of the kids, Possum decided he wanted to try his hand with the camera. He was very careful with my camera and actually didn't do a half bad job-for a three year old! We have not had an overly exciting week, but it is starting to get busy around here now. Last night was our adult Christmas dinner at church. We had a fun time. Tonight we are attending a party. Next week is the ladies cookie exchange here at the house and Friday is Joel's birthday. On Saturday we will have dress rehearsal for the Christmas play and Possum and Squirrel will have their Sunday School party that afternoon. That Sunday will be the play with a fellowship following and on Monday we will host the teens for their Christmas party. Sometime that week we will leave for Christmas in Alabama followed by Joel's annual duck hunting trip to Mississippi with his best friend from college. Wow! I am tired already. Hopefully during one of these functions I will get a decent family picture.

Rabbit Huntin'

Joel tries to spend some special time with Possum and Squirrel by taking them hunting for a little while. Today was Possum's day to go. They were successful and harvested a rabbit. Notice the feather in their hats! I was taking Possum's picture alone and he said "No. I want Daddy in the picture with me." These pictures will be very special one day.

Sweet Babies

Just another attempt of getting a good picture of Possum and Squirrel while they are dressed up. I took many pictures and these were the best out of all of them. I'll try again next Sunday!
